The JOURNEYThe Karavaan is a journey of young Bridgebuilders on a mission to build bridges across the strongholds of indifference, prejudice and ignorance. It is a slowly emerging reality that is spreading on ground level in different countries. Parallel to this journey is the story of Punky Monk, the virtual leader of this Karavaan. Punky Monk and his Circuit Riders travel to schools in Europe to inspire students for this epic journey. The MISSIONThe Karavaan is the unfolding story of an unhappy monk in a monastery on a hill near Nitra, Slovakia whose heart goes out to young people and the many concerns they have today. He is disgrunteled because he is no longer able to communicate his most important message to them. Hidden in his castle of simple convenience, he struggles to build a bridge to the youth of today who seem to have lost their direction. In this effort he is assisted by a much younger and much more radical monk, Punky. In 2010, at the International Youth Festival in Koszeg, Hungary, Punky joined the start of a KARAVAAN on its three year long journey to discover the heart of a nearly lost culture. The Karavaan slowly moves in the direction of North Bohemia where it is expected to arrive in August 2013.
